What is Nutrition and Why Is It Important?

Our nutrition comes from the food we eat and it provides the energy and nutrients your body needs to function and be healthy. Nutrients include proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water.

Unfortunately, with our busy lifestyles and easy access to processed foods and foods that are not nutrient dense, many of us have become nutrient deficient. These deficiencies can lead to all kinds of symptoms that we may not think are diet related but can be easily corrected with proper nutrition.

Many of you know Marcy Duncalfe as one of our Dental Hygienists. Marcy has been with Princess Dental Centre since 2004 and has always been our “resident fitness guru”.

What you may not know is Marcy is also a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and owner of Tweaked Nutrition.

What is a Holistic Nutritionist?

A Holistic Nutritionist is a practitioner that uses a natural approach to health using evidence-based techniques for diet, lifestyle and detoxification. Instead of focusing on just one aspect of the person, or taking a one size fits all approach, a holistic nutritionist evaluates the complete health history, emotional state, lifestyle habits and current diet habits of an individual to determine the root cause of his or her health issues.

The Single Shot

This one time nutritional review is a great starting block for you if you’re looking for a personal assessment based on your current dietary patterns, personal goals, and lifestyle.

*  In an initial 15 minute phone call/Facetime  we’ll discuss your food diary, goals and assess your current situation and needs.

*  Dietary Analysis and Nutritional Recommendations:

The Diet Analysis will provide observations, after analysing your personal food diary and health intake form, and reviewing your macronutrient intake and micronutrient imbalances based on your current diet.

Nutritional recommendations will be provided based on the analysis to help you assess your current situation, the changes that can be made and how you can implement these changes into your daily life in a practical way, to help you achieve your goals.

This is a 45 minute to 1 hr  session in person/facetime session to evaluate the diet analysis results and the nutritional recommendations and discuss a “how to” plan so you can get started immediately with diet changes, lifestyle improvements and discussion on the best way to implement the plan in an effective way for you to eat better and feel better.

The Healthy Start

This package is a great kick start  if you’re looking for a personal assessment based on your current dietary patterns, personal goals, and lifestyle. Coupled with coaching to help you achieve your goals.  You will get everything that the Single Shot package has to offer plus and ADDITIONAL Dietary Analysis and Nutritional Recommendation (approximately a 2 month plan).

*  The help of a one time kitchen raid or grocery store tour is a bonus to this package!!!

Investment:  $75.00

          

The Totally Tweaked Package

You may need professional guidance, accountability and inspiration on an on-going basis to help you reach your goals.

The Totally Tweaked package will help guide you session by session to your best health.

*  4 x Dietary Analysis and Nutritional Recommendations (approx over 2-4 months)

*  4 x 60 to 90 minute consultations. (approx over 2-4 months)

*  A detailed TRUE VIEW analysis will be done to pinpoint any nutritional deficiencies, body system deficiencies and any possible chemical toxicities.  This is done with a certified program from the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners.

Diet Analysis will provide observations, after analysing your personal food diary and health intake form, and reviewing your macronutrient intake and micronutrient imbalances based on your current diet.

Nutritional recommendations will be provided based on the analysis to help you assess your current situation, the changes that can be made and how you can implement these changes into your daily life in a practical way, to help you achieve your goals.

The Tweaked “Recharge” 

This one week “recharge” program will help reset your gut health,  improve your immune system and give you the energy back you used to have.

This investment is a Nutritionally Supported Intermittent Fasting Program.  You will choose 2 consecutive days a week where you will fast for 12-20 hours. Example; you will have your last meal at 7pm and then you will have your next meal anywhere from 9am – 12pm.  You will then continue your day with a Nutritionally Supported  Program.

On fasting days you can choose easy conditioning or yoga.  On the days that you are not fasting you can continue with your Nutritionally Supported Program and include your heavy lifting/bootcamp/HITT programs that you choose to follow.

This program is only available  after you have completed one of the other investment options.
