Your dentist may recommend a CEREC crown if you have a damaged, heavily-decayed, or worn tooth.
CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. It shortens the lengthy and sometimes uncomfortable traditional crown procedure.
Here at Princess Dental we understand how valuable both your smile and time are. We constantly look for more efficient and convenient ways to provide you with the dental care you need.
CEREC is one example of this.
CEREC is a dental innovation that allows patients to get a new crown in one day. Within hours, you can walk out of the dental office with a restored smile.
CEREC makes this possible with the use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) or Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technology.
It takes accurate and detailed images of your mouth. Then your crown is milled in the office and bonded to your tooth right away.
The traditional crown procedure can be very time-consuming and protracted consisting of an oral exam, X-rays, impressions, and temporary crown placement at the initial appointment. This will be followed by a waiting period for the lab to make the crown. And then the patient must return to replace the temporary crown with the crown sent from the lab. There’s more room for error and varying results.
With CEREC, you no longer have to go through all these steps.
CEREC eliminates the risk of human error when getting dental crowns.
The digital scanner takes comprehensive images, which are then replicated in a milling machine. The high-accuracy impression and manufacturing process avoid the need for multiple fittings and adjustments. The device produces crowns that fit well and look exactly like your natural teeth. The process is accurate, quick, and simple!
Everything is made easier and faster! With good oral hygiene habits and regular dental visits, your crowns can last for many years.
Like any other dental technology, CEREC crowns may not be suitable for everyone.
CEREC is made from high-quality ceramic. But depending on your situation, you may need a different type of crown.
You and your dentist can look into your options after examining your mouth, oral health, and personal preferences.
